How does the valve cover seal with the coil on plug conversion?

I don't understand how I can replace the two flanged sealing bolts in the center of the valve cover with studs. I must be missing something because I searched and apparently nobody has even asked this question let alone had a problem with oil spewing out of those holes.

The kit retains all seals beneath the valve cover.  The stud involves two nuts, therefore the valve cover is fastened with one nut and the other is used on the upper side of the COP location plate.

I tried to save a little money by making my own plate (I work in a CNC shop) and buying my own hardware, but the studs I bought have a shoulder in the center. Do I need to throw these out and buy studs that are completely threaded?

I'm not sure, but the kit that I have used all-thread rod that was cut to length.

My kit was the same - allthread with four nuts to locate the coil plate. I threaded the studs in, then used two nuts with washers to hold down the seals, then the plate sits on the coils, then finally the other nuts hold the cover in place. It's not perfect but I haven't had any trouble with oil in the plug bores.
