Cheche 318is From Costa Rica
« on: April 24, 2015, 05:31:35 PM »
Hello Folks,

I have been a petrolhead all my life and I specially love BMWs, I have always wanted a 318is but until recently I never had the chance to own one in proper shape.

anyway here is my latest car.

born on August 2nd 1990 for the US market EE69886

she is in great shape and with little mods, (Electric Fan and LSD) but lots to do.

So far I have changed the rear badge and I got the A/C resistance waiting to go in, only works in full speed.

Giving her a bath

This is my other car, 530it US market with M60B40 swap and 5 speed transmission, my money pit...

I daily drive her to work about 3 days a week and last week I had a small accident, firts rain in months, the road was very slippery and chinese tyres didnt help, had some understeer entering the corner and I had to break add steering to avoid an oncoming car, happily I didnt hit the oncoming car, but I ended up hitting a wall of rocks and dirt, minor incident, but left me with some front end to fix.

I have bought a used front bumper from a dealer in Miami, so its on its way down here, so I will be fixing her up soon, I also have to get a new pair of front Bilsteins sports, I got brand new ones for the rear waiting in my room, much to do!

Welcome to the forum! Very pretty car in spite of the damaged front corner.

being doing a lot lately

change spark plugs and oil again last weekend, I also change the resistance of the A/C, put some Falken tires on it and went back to the RZs

I also got a new bumper with euro trim and clear turn signals, should be going to the paint shop soon.

Oh and I also install an Euro plate filler

now I have brand new Bilstein sports for the rear and I just need to get the new ones, I dont want to change the springs, as the usual combo is H&R and Billies sport, because I have driven a 325 with such set up and its super stiff and low, I should not see an increase in ride height with the sport springs and billies right?

so... whats up guys.

I just wanted to post some progress on the car, I changed the whole brakes, calipers (another set of stock but painted red) rotors (brembo), pads (EBC), brake fluid (ATE) and metallic lines from ECS, great quality BTW.

I also changed the end links and bushings of both front and rear sway bars, in the process I discovered that my rear sway bar is not the sport one, which sucks... I need to swap it with my dad´s E30 hahaha

I almost forgot, I also fixed the front of the car with the bumber and clear turn signals, during that time I removed the paint from the grill too

looks much better now!
