Engine misses badly on cold start

The engine misses and runs really rich on cold start up. Seems like a spark issue, coils are 10 or so years old. Is there a way to test the coils without removing them (coil on plug)

Yah sounds like a spark problem, First inspect your plugs to make sure they are in working order/good condition (FREE ). Then if no faults are found you can use this http://www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/TH458/COIL-ON-PLUG-SPARK-TESTER/
This bad boy simply goes on top of the plug and measures KV If the cop is getting the signal to fire but not firing this will let you know!
