e30 318is blower motor replacement help
« on: August 26, 2014, 06:22:57 PM »
Can't find any write ups geared for the m42 e30 blower motor replacement, does anyone have any useful tips to get the wiring harness out of the way? Maybe someone out there has access to a write up that I can't find? Any tips would be helpful!

before you replace the blower motor, pull and test it with a 12v lead.
It may just be the resistor.

IIRC I just clipped the zip tie and pulled those two wires out of the way. I don't recall it being too easy, especially with plastic that old. It's been too long since I pulled one of those out.

Is this helpful at all? This is what I used when I did mine. I know the link is for an M20 but it still worked for me.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I have already replaced the resistor and nothing happened. There is very little space in between the motor, firewall and wiring harness, wasn't sure if there was a handy dandy way of getting the wiring harness moved out of the way enough to pull the blower motor out.
