Liquidating some M42 stuff
« on: August 24, 2014, 11:24:41 AM »
Figured I'd toss some parts up on here to fund an upcoming E24 project. All are best offer plus shipping. I accept PayPay and will consider trades. Here's a link to my current CL ad with more details.

I have a good E36 M42 pulled from a running '95 318iS. I believe that these motors are as good as the stock M42 ever got. It has all the updated timing chain components of the M44 but still uses the front-mounted M42 crank angle sensor. I suspect it'll also have the lighter M44 rods. Unknown mileage, unknown compression, complete except for AFM, TCU, and DME. Includes the superior 4-speed GM automatic, not the ZF auto that always blows up the reverse clutch. Tranny cooler was damaged when I brought it home. If you're serious I'll see what I can do about a leakdown test. I'd hugely prefer local pickup. $300 for M42club members.

I have a bunch of E30 stuff too, I'll list more stuff listed once I dig it all out. PM me if you need some trim bits.

Complete pair of fog lights including mounting frames. Driver's side is like new but passenger side is chipped. I can hear the glass rattling around inside, I'd bet a windshield repair kit would fix that right up. $100 for the set. Mine aren't brand new, but they beat the heck out of these $1200 ones on Amazon. Turner Moto sells them for $170 each. Even the cheap eBay yellow plastic ones are $60 now. Buy mine, they're OEM!

Passenger side fog light, used but functional. It's sandblasted from road grit but otherwise OK. I also have the matching driver's side but the lens is cracked, I'll toss it in for free (the case, reflector and projector are OK, new plastic lenses are available). No mounting frames. $25/both (Offer pending)
~or~
I'll toss them in for free if you buy the other set.

I do have one left, but it's in rough shape. Latch & hinge are missing, lining is damaged, and it looks like someone tried to pry it open. I'd use it if the car was totally missing the glove box, not otherwise. I'll snap some pics if you're still interested.

Still have the Springs?

Any way you'd be interested in parting the lower timing case from that engine? :)

I'd love to sell the lower case...but I'd hugely prefer that it sold as a unit. Think of it this way...it's a bargain at $300 since it comes with a free engine!

Probably a long shot, but are the fog lights still available?
