Hello from NZ,

Just picked up my first BMW, a 1990 318is (+turbo).

Thought I would join and share and tap into the wealth of knowledge that exists round these parts. Keen to learn and now that I've got the Bimmer bug I'm already looking at what's next!

Who did the turbo conversion? Boost?
What is your rwhp?
Running standard ecu or aftermarket?

It was done by the apprentice of a guy called Kayne Barrie. He tells me it's putting down a little under 300rwhp at 16 psi.

It's running a Motec m4 ecu

Specs:

Mosselman log manifold
JE Forged pistons + lowered CR (unsure of actual CR)
Garrett t3 turbo
Motec m4 ECU with full electronic engine maps + boost control (Had ICV delete)
Quaife LSD
Turbo cams
Getrag 260 Gearbox
Koni gas adjustables with eibach springs
Custom intercooler setup with superstealthy low profile intercooler

Haha unfortunately the previous owner put a clutch in that can't handle the boost so I've gotta put in a new one, also had a misfire which I've fixed and had a low profile resonator welded in as the last one caught on a bump and ripped the exhaust off. They also replaced the diff oil with a shitty standard gear oil so that's been done, as well as it had a parasitic battery drain and potentially a dodgy alternator.

I'm also slowly returning her to what she would have looked like out of the factory (bar the bbs rs rep wheels). When i bought it it had a set of modern lenso rims, missing the RH highbeam in favour of the air intake, spoiler deleted (new one going on tomorrow) and it has ripped up recaros out of something else cause the previous took the almost immaculate anthracite plaid recaros out . In saying all of that, I don't know if I want to replace the mtech bumpers it has on it for the standard iS items, I quite like the mtech kit.

All in all for what I paid for the car, I couldn't be happier, even with the issues i've had. I love it to bits.

very nice car!keep the Mtech kit is pretty rare,also you can do a COP conversion.

Mtech side skirts would probably be the go then I'd say.
But very little to do and neat very neat.

Yeah a big yes to the mtech side skirts, just not easy to find coupe skirts here! Fitted my spoiler today, looks muuuuuch better! Also purchased an m3 e36 clutch to go into my beast so I can start getting all those those kilowatts to the ground properly.
