ive done bit of searching frew this forum on e30 m42 chips
now i know its all been covered hear an ther but i can see ther

mark d chips

jim comforti chips

an midnight tunning chips

tunner motorsport chips (comforti chips ?)

ebay chips lol

now all i wanna know is who as what an what an ur experience an what  would yu recomend im from uk so it will be running 97-99 octain

I haven't had any of these installed, but I've heard good things about Barrie's Midnight Tuning chips and MarkD's EAT Ultrachips. Both Barrie and Mark are members here as well, I'd recommend them just on that basis.

PM Barrie directly - BMWConnect - I'm sure he'd give you a good idea of what you need.
I can tell you that MarkD has a spring sale every year, and that he offers two different octane chips.

Efficient as in fuel mileage, or power?

For fuel mileage - no chip (LOL), brand new battery (perhaps a lithium one), synthetic oil & lubes, taller diff (maybe a 3.64 or 3.73), taller wheels, remove weight from chassis, eliminate vac leaks, clean fuel injectors, WBO2, new cat, pick up warm air for the intake, put in a hotter thermostat, thin out the coolant & add a surfactant like "water wetter." You'll see about 10% better mileage with these mods.

For power - I have very little expertise here (but I'll blather on anyway). I'd do a chip, brand new battery (perhaps a lithium one), synth oils & lubes, short diff (like a 4.27), shorter wheels, remove weight, eliminate vac leaks, maybe install bigger injectors, WBO2, install a better flowing catalyst, pick up cold air for intake, remove throttle body heater, colder thermostat, replace engine driven fan with electrical unit, thin out the coolant & add a surfactant like "water wetter." You might get 25% more power with these mods.

Best of both worlds lol I'm using a e36 328i as my daily driver atm so it's gunna be better on fuel regardless just a alight increase. In,power overall
