Carsoft 6,5 ever tried??

I am planning to get this tool to see each and every detail about what is going on in the ECU?? but the question is I think it is for OBD II cars.. will it work on DME 175 on an m42 engine?

now, if you ever used this tool, do you suggest it or is there an alternative diagnose tool I can use...?? I prefer it be cheaper..

by the way I heard there is a tool that I can use with bluetooth on an android mobile phone...

I tried CarSoft 6.5 on my OBD1 '91, never could get it to work. A piece of wire works oh-so-much better, LOL.

I did have a bit of luck with an Ebay clone GT1 reader. You need to set up a virtual machine for that, it's a bit complicated, but it worked as advertised. I gave it all away, otherwise I'd post some screenshots.

I have an android Bluetooth obdII reader called Torque for the other cars.  Its pretty cool but unfortunately just obdII.  Sorry I don't have a suggestion other than the stomp test.  If the reader your looking at is for obdII it's not going to work for you.

Bet I have the exact same one - it works surprisingly well. Unfortunately it only does OBD2.

I've wondered how different the BMW protocol is compared to OBD2.

thank you for the answers.. I am getting the fault codes by prompt test but I am searching this tool to gel real time information about the sensors.. anyway.. it seems impossible with this tool, I guess..
