MarkD sells a 93 octane chip. You aren't going to find any freebies out there that will be as good or better than that. It is my understanding that the M42's stock ignition timing is very conservative and that a lot of the gains found in performance chips are from advancing it in certain parts of the power band. Again though, I don't think that any quality tuned M42 BINs are floating around for free.

Also, street racing isn't a good idea. First, you will probably lose the $40 since there are plenty of Civics out there that can smoke a stockish 318iS. Second, you may lose a lot more than $40 if you get caught. I've seen way too many bad things happen to friends and people on other car forums as a result of "friendly races" in the 13 years I have been in the car scene. Be careful and keep it under 60MPH. Honda's are actually very respectable cars, although it can be hard to take them seriously with the insect-looking body kits that people put on them lol.

Visit HERE for a plethora of 318iS stuff and some other randomness.  Would you say I have a, plethora, of pinatas?

well i had video but the video person was a girl and did exactly what i asked her not too so it wont be posted.. screaming and looking at the door with the camera. like wth right.. women need to get their shit straight. any ways. we raced 3 times. busted his ass everytime lol.. i even let off the third race (in second gear)till he went back by and then i went back by in the top of third gear lol.
sadly enough it was only a 1.6 sohc non vtec and he kinda kept up.. was slightly upsetting lol ive changed my rev limit to 7k so my 3rd goes all the way to 100mph. idk if ill have any power gains haha. im trying a new tune also. havent actually drove it any.. id have to say the scariest thing messing with the ostrich.. i set my rev limit to 3.5k once.. went to floor it and when it died i thought my engine died. lol.. but all and all the bmw won. thanks for your interest in my illegal endeavors lol.

Sounds like fun.  Good thing you didn't get a later Honda, or a bigger one.  Civics are little terrors even stock...once they're set up right they're superb machines.  The M42 was behind the times when it was introduced...twenty years haven't helped matters much.

You could set the car up for drags, but why?  It's hard on the gearbox & motor, and our cars weren't made for that kind of racing.  An E30 is oh-so-much happier on a curving road.  RWD drive is not much of an advantage drag racing after the first 20 feet, but it makes for very confident open-road holding.

Get that car off to some driving classes!  They're fun, and hard in a challenging way.

i actual raced my old integra against this car when my friend owned it. integra won. i dont wanna set it up for drags. plus i dont just dump the clutch in every gear when i race. i change as i normally would just at a higher rpm lol. i have a medium case 373 lsd and the civic stayed beside me taking off anyways :( lol. all im really wanting is a 4cylinder dd thats dependable and puts mustangs and camaros in there place.
i thought about following most and going with the m47 crank with s50 pistons and going 12:1 compression. but turbo just sounds so much easily for roughly the same gains lol

Get a 4.10LSD diff. I can't even imagine driving one of these cars with a 3.73.

i had 4.10 small case for the first week i owned it.. sheered a spider gear doing a burnout lol.. then bought a 2.93lsd from a junkyard for 60 bucks. it was fun as shit on wet roads.. but sluggish as hell till 4500rpm lol then bought another 4.10 open for 80. i was gonna try to swap the carriers of the 2.93 and the 4.10 diff and come out with a 4.10 lsd but i didnt get around to that.. anyways. put it in. and it was spunky and would bark second gear. but then found a 3.73locker for 120. so i said why not try it. sold the 2.93 for 150 :) i love salvage yards. i got the 3.73 in and loved it.. actually have a first gear, and a highway gear. with my rev limit at 7k i hit 40 in first 70 in second 100 in third. and idk the rest lol. 3.73 is perfert for this car. ill try to post a vid

If you want the best gains on 93 octane gas I have the best chip on the market for the M42. I invested most of my time into this engine and was one of the first to turbo the M42 using the stock motronic with modded chip software

Cheers

Nope I'm very reasonable considering the amount of time invested. good luck!
