I don't have much on the car yet in terms of photos, but when I do I'll update. Records were kept and the car has 210k miles on it. It has a freshly redone interior and the paint is new(black) basketweave wheels.

My car has 191K but runs well although has a few cosmetic flaws.  Guy wants 4500 dollars for the car all together but is willing to trade for mine plus 1800 cash.  Does that seem too much?

I wouldn't do it...unless.  The M42 is just as powerful and IMHO far more fun to drive.  It's also a lot rarer than the 325e.  The big bumpers are a real turn off on the earlier cars.  Unless it's a manual transmission 325eS with intact spoilers, I'd pass.

OTOH, the M20 eta has great torque.  It's a lovely car to drive in traffic with that big lazy motor.  You could use the cash to rebuild it into a 327i with some selected parts.  M20 motors are also incredibly durable, except for the timing belt.

I guess I didn't make it toooo clear. I was trading my non driving 325e for a working 91 318is. I did it today and only paid 1300 additional cash. Easy decision.

I see....glad to hear that it went well.  I think you definitely got the better half of that deal!
