FS 91 318i Black/Black

Edit 13 Feb: Sold!

Selling a 1991 318i 5sp with 168k.  I bought this car with a blown head off of a guy locally who was going to send it to the crusher!  The head has been resurfaced, checked and replaced.  It is currently my 3rd E30, and I can't keep it.

It is a west coast car, sold in California as far as I can tell and currently has oregon plates.  It is located in Albq, New Mexico.  Body is in great shape, some surface rust down in the battery well and a couple of dings, notably over the drivers rear wheel.  The m42 is smooth and is not leaking anything.  I have seriously been considering swapping it over into my is, but I don't really have the time, so it goes with the car.  Runs, drives and stops just fine.  It does have a list of things that need to be addressed, but nothing that interferes with the normal operation.

I am putting it up here in hopes of getting it into the hands of an E30 lover.  I will use craigslist if necessary, but I feel it should go to someone who really knows these cars.

As far as the good/bad:

Good:

great engine
good body
straight driver
suspension is good
brakes are good
dash is in good condition, a couple of hairline cracks only
short-shifter, I was told it was a Z3, but have not verified
PO swapped in leather seats from a convertible.  They are 4/10 but very comfortable and have the heating element.  I have the wiring and console piece in the trunk, but the seat heaters have not been hooked up
stereo with mp3 jack

Bad:

A/C does not currently work
fogs missing
shift bushings are shot, very loose shifting
tach is dead, everything else on the cluster works
Carries a 'branded' title from California.
Power door locks do not work.  Power door UNlocks work great, so the system is functional, but for some reason, they won't lock from any location.
OBC is dead
paint is ok at best
some squeaking from the rear.  I assume it will need bushings.
PO painted gauge needles red, this may be good ?!

I'd like to get $1900 from it, I'd also like it if it went to a good home.

Looks like my diamondschwartz 4-door (but I have tan interior).

For anyone interested, those leather seats look like great candidates for a good restoration with Leatherique products.  I'm betting they would come out great, and black is the easiest color to work on (no prob's with dye matching at the end of the resto).

Nice car.  Good luck.

I do have the car, but am holding it for another week for a local buyer who has verbally committed.  I will notify if that does not pan out and it becomes available again.
