Factory Catalytic Converter NLA

so the car(in SoCal) finally needs a cat, only to find they're NLA through the dealer. Also had Steve at Blunttech try to run one down and he couldn't find in north america or germany.

anyone got a lead on a new, factory cat? this is more than a simple WTB; looking for any info regarding tracking one down or others with the same experience. Steve was surprised, i'm wondering if it is a deliberate plan by BMW AG.

tia,
robert w.

p.s. turner aftermarket also not available currently and i know about the magnaflow universal.

I had no idea.  There aren't many M42 E30s out there - it's a relatively rare car.  Perhaps they'll do batches when they get enough requests?

Sorry I don't have a good answer...but I've occasionally wondered if an M20 exhaust might be adapted or persuaded to fit our cars?  Anyone know?
