Diagram to connect additional thermostat 318is 1991
« on: February 23, 2013, 07:37:40 AM »
Putting back engine in place, was not careful enough to identify where each hose was connected.  This additional thermostat is not on the regular diagram I found.

Where do the hoses connect? Diagram?

Thanks

You know, I don't recall.  That's the upgraded system - it's designed to protect the heater core from high pressure in case the expansion tank fails.  I'll take a look downstairs or snap a picture later on today.

IIRC hose #9 comes from the rear cylinder head, hose #6 goes to the upper heater valve on the firewall.  Part #20 was spliced into the return hose from the lower heater valve.
