XMS Now 0% done
« on: December 21, 2006, 03:28:40 AM »
So I´ve got about 2hours of actual live tuning now,
I have mostly been driving to work trying to work out where the fuel is not
good and the car stumpling, I had to advance the uppper rpm and throttle ranges as it was blowing the burn out the exhaust and you could hear it,

the car now revs to all rpms and throttle ranges very well,
And I noticed that there is a big diffrence in fuel usage in the higher load and rpms then in the light loads,

When I get time to do alot of live tuning I will be able to finalize the fuel map,
to a steady 14-15 in the light loads, more towards the 15 tough, and 13-13.5 in the higher ones, probably more towards 13:1 ,

The best part :
I got ton of advance left all over the map and it still feels perky at this point,

Anyway more as things develop

This is a MAP based unit?  I cannot remember...

Did you have any issues in the 2500-3000RPM range under throttle openings ~70% and above?  There is a natural resonance point there in the intake system that wreaks havoc on setups more sensitive than the VAM (such as a MAF).  Did you have to make a "rich" spot in that RPM range for large throttle openings and seemingly smaller MAP readings?

Hmmm...

Well, I think that actually helps me out...I am now even more sure about the cause of the fluctuations.

Gunni...you are gonna dyno this when done right?

I´ll try to do all kinds of measurements as I can,
gtech pro and hopefully Dyno as well,
I can actually get another 318is for a gtech run to compare too,

this is a TPS vs. RPM vs. MAP

90% done,

I took it out again and did some fuel tuning and fixing the ignition , it needed some advance here and there but other then that it was fine,

I have some issues with the car it self , i,.e throttle wire, exhaust rubbing against the car and other such crap, so I haven´t done any low gear run´s yet, took it to 100mph just now with a STRONG head wind,,

Also the air filter is still sitting in front of the throttle body, so it´s sucking in the hot air. but I´ll fix that soon enough, just want to get it tuned with the air coming in at a steady air temp
