Author Topic: WTB: M42 head, valve cover, other parts (Read 4432 times)

Hi,

I pulled off my the head on my 95 318ti's m42 today to replace what I thought was a blown hg only to find worse: a cracked head. I'm taking it to a local cylinder head shop to see if it can be repaired tomorrow but in the mean time I need to look for a replacement if it can't be, along with a few other parts. You can respond to this thread or email me at jmejia019@yahoo.com. All parts are for MY95 318ti, production month 10/95, M42 engine.

-M42 cylinder head. I dont know how many different heads there are for this motor but it must match my current one. cams are not necessary but ill take them if the seller doesn't want to remove.

-CLEAN (or reasonably so) valve cover. I have a perfectly functional one now, just dirty and grimy with cooked oil all over. a clean oil filler cap would be nice too

-CLEAN upper intake mani. the same deal as the vc, just a cosmetic upgrade so it must be clean.

I got a whole m42 from an e30...don't know if they are the same though

From what I'm reading the head is the same minus the valves and cams. What's the condition? Mileage? Ever been over heated or worked on etc? Send pics please. Also, since its for an e30 I just need the head as the vc and intake are different. Also, price shipped to 23504?

Valve cover is different between the e36 m42 and the e30 m42. Breather hose is in a different location.

head and mani have been purchased. still looking for a clean valve cover though.

I cleaned up the posts. We had a few issues with the server that were cleared up last weekend.

Glad you found (most of) what you were looking for. I don't have any E36 parts...I'll have to fix that one of these days!
