FS: 91 318is in Southwest Michigan
« on: December 17, 2012, 08:16:25 PM »
After 11 years of ownership, it is finally time to get rid of my baby.  As much as I don't want to see it go, I can't keep holding onto it thinking that one day I'll get around to working on it.  This was my first car when I turned 16, and always dreamed of fixing it up.  I'm still not 100% convinced of selling it, so I would just like to get an idea of what kind of interest there is out there.  I don't want to sell it to someone who will just tear it apart for parts, but would generally like to see it go to an enthusiast that will give it the love it needs. It definitely needs some TLC!

Currently located in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

1991 BMW 318is Coupe
Diamantschwarz Exterior
Beige w/ black accent interior
18X,XXX miles (current miles unknown, as I am currently living 150 miles away from where the car is located)
M42 engine with 5spd
4.10 final drive
Factory 14 inch basket weaves
$1,995 OBO

Good:
Engine runs strong and I've never had any mechanical issues
Transmission shifts like brand new
Suspension is tight with no creaks, squeaks, or pops
New belts last summer
Fuel tank replaced a few years ago with brand new tank
Rack and pinion replaced
New coolant pump
New front control arms, tie rod ends, and ball joints
All new fluids

Bad:
Body is currently a horrible combination of Diamantschwarz, rattle can touch-ups, and sun faded grey.
Body kit is installed, but still needs finishing work.
Brake rotors will need machining as the car has been sitting for the last year.
Dash has a few bad cracks in it.
Sunroof trim cloth needs replacement
A couple of small rust holes in the floor pan and sunroof pan that still need to be addressed.

Modifications:
Short throw shifter
Supersprint catback exhaust
Braided stainless brake hoses
Performance ECM chip
Strut tower brace
Adjustable front sway bar links and urethane bushings
K&N cone filter
BMP Design Performance plug wires
Fiberglass body kit
Upgraded lighting
and much more!

I also have a set of beige leather front seats (full power adjustment, heated and cooled) from a 2012 Audi A6 that I will include for the full asking price, or sell separately.  Spoiler shown in pictures has been removed and the factory lip spoiler has been re-installed.  Please ask if interested in spoiler from pictures.

Would you be interested in parting? There are a few items I would be very interested in.
Regards,
