Just acquired my '91 318is this weekend, and happened across this site this morning while doing a little research... Figured I would say hello and show off my latest acquisition.

Here she is:

More here

I actually picked it up as a winter beater (my main summer car is a '94 miata), but I fear I may actually like it a little too much... We'll see what happens in the spring I guess. Body is pretty solid, all original paint and panels, with only one place where there's any significant rust (pass side behind front wheel). Just a few things to take care of before I officially get it on the road--hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday. Already trolling boards and ebay for a front lip, bbs center cap, etc.
I have to admit I'm a bit of a sucker for the six-cylinders, but I was pleasantly surprised by the M42.

Oops... Fixed!

Thanks. I love the seats. They're in great shape too.
Equipment=Nikon D50 w/18-70

Here's the miata:

(More here)

M42 feels a little more refined than the miata motor, but there's no question, E30s and miatas in general have a very similar feel.

**EDIT: I suck at links tonight!

Hey, another one from up here. Welcome. You're lucky, theres a lot more E30s in Ontario then in Quebec...I searched and searched for a Diamantschwartz and ended up with a Brilliantrot...not bad but still not DS. The M42 is a very nice engine, enjoy yours.

BTW, to all you US guys, those seats are not rare in Canada, they came in most 318is.

Anyone want to venture a guess?

No, haven't driven the new one yet. I hear they are a better car, but not necessarily a better miata.

I love Miatas.  I love BMWs.  With that said, nice choice on the cars.  For a change, you might like how the wheels look without the caps, at least until you get all four.  I like them better without.

You're probably going to get addicted, so be warned.  Good luck and welcome!
