install o² sensor, i need you !
« on: October 14, 2012, 03:38:53 AM »
Hello,
I need your help!
My 318is is year 90, and here in France it is not catalyzed.
It is pre-wired to install the O² sensor.
And for several reasons, I wish to install it.
My DME is 0 261 200 175, the chip is 1 267 356 346.
If your cars are catalyzed, could you tell me what is the number of your (stock) chip?

Thank's a lot !
Mike

I'll go take a look later.  175 is certainly the right DME.

I have a stock binary that I can send if you have the capability to burn your own EEPROMs.

Do you have the proper relay for the O2 heater circuit?  You also have to disconnect the CO pot wire in the firewall wiring harness.  It's detailed here somewhere.

Thank's a lot Dave!
I unplugged the wire, I put a relay and plugged my sensor.
When starting the car, my sensor burn well!
So, is it good ? is it enough ?
I think so, and i'm ok for yours binary !

Sounds good so far.  The o2 relay heating up the sensor is great.  I'm just not sure how to test if it's going into closed loop without a sniffer/exhaust gas analyzer.

Ouch! my English is bad !! You mean that you don't know how to test if it really functional ?  If this is it, I ask myself the same question

Hello,

your stock eprom, it's for wich benzine ? in france, it's RON95 or 98. We haven got lower at the station. Your binary it's ok for this RON ?
I have a chip tuning buyed at ebay.de for DME 175. But with this chip my m42 turn like a potatoe... May be it's because this chip is for cat ? No Ref on the chip.
so, in deutshland, it's cat or no cat ?
Thanks a lot, and sorry for my english :p
