So who will commit to 318is/M42 skidplates?
« on: December 06, 2006, 10:44:12 AM »
From a thread about my new M42 manifolds came up the topic of skidplates for the M42. I test fit the usual M20 piece to the 318is I have in the shop and it will require a different plate to be made.  It will be of the same type of contruction as the current plates except the bends will be in slightly different locations to allow for the deeper sump and such of the M42. These will of course have a properly locate drain hole for oil changes without removing the plate.

Pricing will be the same as the M20 plates at $185 shipped. We're currently quite busy at the shop and need at least 4 pre-paid orders to commit the time to mock up a new plate and produce them. It seems like theres enough interest in them. We can definately get them shipped off to you in time for Christmas as well.

Orders must be placed by Wed. Dec. 13 and will be produced on Friday of that week. We have a few projects that need to get done this month so this is the only opportunity we'll have for a few weeks.

Orders can be placed through here. http://www.666fab.com/misce30.html

Personally, I want one but have to wait until after the Christmas spending is done and paid for.

Without having a super accurate scale around 3-4lbs is a pretty safe estimate. Definately not any sort of noticable weight addition.

Gotta do it now because I actually have a 318is in the shop. Need a few pre-orders in order to cover r&d time. Theyll be available for order down the road for those lacking funding at the moment.

I'm with everybody else on this one.  I would definitely order one down the road, but now is a bad time.

So am I the only one?  I could pay for three more, then resell them at a considerable markup....   :)
