Would an e30 M3 intake manifold fit the e36 M42?
Trying to figure out if this is worth the effort to do this.
Thanks

I'm sure it'd work with a lot of customizing...but the hot ticket seems to be the Euro S50 ITB's. Those require very little modifications. I think Warsteiner did a build a little while back...

Yeah, the S14 TBs would be hard to do since the spacing on the cylinder bores is different than the M42. The S50 has the same spacing, which is certainly a good way to start!

Dave I have the Dbilas set up as well as the S42 Slide Throttle set up. I will be running the Dbilas on my stroker.
The S14 ITB's have been done but there is major modification needed. You have to make an adapter plate from ITB's to head and then you have to cut the airbox and re-weld to clear the brake booster. I have not done this myself but have only seen pictures of it. Here is a link to what I am talking about.....

I think the hot ticket now is S54 ITB's with GT Technic. Here is a copy from the ITB section.....

We make an adapter for the head that makes it possible to fit the S54 throttle bodies. Cost is $375. You have to get used TBs from a wrecked E46 M3 and then you keep the car all BMW. You can get them for about $750 with the linkages. This makes it more affordable and a cleaner installation.
In the picture I don't have the fuel rail installed, but get the injectors along with the TBs, fuel rail and air tube. You have to fab a few things, but these are all easy tasks.
