Hankook RS-2s?

Has anyone tried the Hankook RS-2s? I have heard good things but I would feel more comfortable if it were coming from a REAL person. From what I've read It has great bang for the buck. I want something really sticky without spending alot of cash. i think they were 105 or 115 for 205/45r17s (i was looking at them for an rx-7). Opinions anyone?

Wow. Your right, thats one helluva tire. And at $125 for the same size it's not too much of a step up. but we are still talking about $80 more for a set.

What will you be using them for? What are your priorities? Saying you want a sticky tire for cheap is a self-eliminating statement in the world of tires. You can get an inexpensive good tire but a lot of times - unless there's a clearance sale on a model about to be discontinued - it's hard to get a good deal.

If the tire you speak of is the Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 - that tire is basically a competitor to the Falken Azenis Sport RT 615 with supposed better wet traction. I intend to try it out as my next tire as a matter of fact. I rode in a turbo e36 on the track with them and another m42 guy on here has them no his car and I am impressed with what the tire offers for the price.

Well I'm not buying new tires very soon. I have just been wondering about them. But what I meant is I want something thats not going to break me and give me the best bang for the buck. I'm open to other tires like the Goodyear F1 GS D3(which I'm quite impressed with) but I'm on a shoe string budget. The best tire i can get for the least amount of money is what I'm shooting for. And yes I meant the z212.

if you arent bothered by tire wear issues. Falken Azenis or The Hankooks will be way better than the Goodyear eagles for performance.

I run Azenis on my car and the traction is amazing.  Before switching to Azenis I ran Falken Ziex (2 sets, loved them for what they are), BFG traction T/A (not so good), Yokahama AVS100 (not a bad tire).

I have now run 2 different sets of azenis and they are amazing tires.  The only problem with them is that they wear quickly. The Hankook are supposed to have better wear characteristics but ultimate traction isn't as good.

I corded them in four track days and about 3000 miles of street driving.  Although track alignment didn't help, they sure didn't last long for street tires.  Grip was pretty good, I suppose.

What exactly have you heard?  I have these on my Koseis and I really like them.  Same general characteristics of the Azenis, but has better wet traction.  Actually, I can tell you the wet grip is amazing.

Like most performance tires, they need some heat in them to really get max dry grip, but I really like them.  

This is how I buy tires though:  Worst treadwear rating for that speed rating, at lowest price.

Im running 205/50/16 bfgoodrich GForce Sport tires (75 a pop w free shipping from discounttiredirect.com) and absolutely love them. Great grip, quiet and cheap. Look into them.

http://www.vulcantire.com has pretty good prices.  I rock Falken Azenis, the RT 615, and LOVE them.  Not a rain (or ice, as I have been dealing with) tire but damn sticky for super cheap. 4 x 61 bucks for weaves...

Just ordered the 225 50 15s from edgeracing.  Ill give a report after there mounted.
They will be used as street tires. I really dont drive all that much though(only to school and around town, i ride my motorcylcle to work most of the time)maybe 5-7k a year.

I have given up on Azenis and other "super-duper high performance" tires.  

I drive my car alot and pretty hard.  I went through 2 sets of azenis in 6 months and 8000 miles.

I have snow tires on now but this spring I'm going for some rock hard all-seasons.  I have slicks for the track and auto-x now so I really dont see the need to be so fuh-raze on the street

I loved the tires, I just hated buying new ones all the time...

That's a great tire as well, esp for the price!  

I've got the Hankoock RS2's and been very happy with them thus far.  It's seen track duty twice and was impressed with the grip, in dry and wet.
