I came across the M42club on a search engine. I had to join. My bimmer is a 318is. My Parents bought it new in 1991, right after my father returned from Desert Storm. In 99, it was bounced between my sister and parents. My sister doesn't take good care of cars.  I didn't become a huge bimmer fan until I was stationed in Germany. I bought a 87 520i for 300 bucks. That thing could easily chirp third gear. I hit a max speed of 210km (130mph) on the Autobahn comming back from Munich at 2am. That was a blast.

After I got out of the Army my dad said I could have the 318is. However the motor was shot (thanks sis). My dad left me to pick out where to order the motor from. I can't remember where I ordered it from, but its has more grunt than the original.

Last week I installed the bilstein bts 7511 kit. I love it. It handles better than new.I've rambled enough.

Sounds like the journey has begun.  Post some pics when you can.  Where in Germany? Where are you now?
