Clutch Lube Recommendations?
« on: August 23, 2012, 12:58:35 PM »
Hey guys, I was looking through the BMW service manual and it recommends lubing the TOB/release fork/pivot pin with Molykote Longterm 2 grease. It looks like the stuff is hard to come by, at least in a small tube. What do you use to lube your clutch components?

One person that generally seems to know their stuff recommended silver anti-seize paste, although that is what I usually use on my exhaust fasteners.

I did manage to get some Esso Unirex S2 grease for the input shaft splines, so at least that matches the service manual's recommendation.

Visit HERE for a plethora of 318iS stuff and some other randomness.  Would you say I have a, plethora, of pinatas?

Clutch Lube Recommendations?

I use a very thin coat of Honda 60 moly paste for all my spline drives.  I'll bet it'd work well on a clutch as well, but I'm unsure about plastics compatibility.
