Does anyone know/have the specs of the M42 installed in the E36? I mean like hp,tq,0-60mph, etc. I've googled but with no result. Maybe i haven't searched well. :)

From www.autotrader.com:
Horsepower:  138 hp @ 6000 rpm
Torque:  129 ft-lbs @ 4500 rpm

As tested by magazines:
1991 BMW 318is 0-60mph 10.0s, 1/4 mile 17.3s
1994 BMW 318is 0-60mph 10.1s, 1/4 mile 17.5s
Now: '98 E36 318is coupe Past: '97 E36 318is sedan; '91 E36 325i sedan; '94 E36 318is; '90 E30 318is; '95 E36 M3; '90 E30 318is

Yes, because the E36 is about 440 pounds heavier than the E30. I'll make some test runs these days to see what my numbers are with the E36 engine in the E30 body.
I'd say an engine that can do 10s 0-60 with a 3090 pound car can get a lot faster with a 2200 pound car. :)

How did it fit ? Same engine mounts ? Any problems with clearance or set up ?

It fit perfectly. I used M40 mounts and rubber mountings. No clearance problems, just plug and play. :)
