I put the new clutch and stuff together over the weekend and it is all back on the car. I applied the recommended Esso Unirex S2 lube to the input shaft's splines.
A coworker asked if I lubed the contact points for the pivot arm and throw out bearing. No, I didn't. The Chilton's manual does not mention this and I never have in the past. I looked through the BMW service manual and it does say to put some Molylube stuff on all contact points, particularly the guide sleeve for the TOB or, "the TOB may seize on the guide." Well, I never have in the past and it was OK. How about everyone else?
