hey everybody, i know i'm new, but just wanted to throw this out there. i've recently redone my suspension and i went with Bilstein sports and Ireland Engineering stage 3 race coils. some people said that this would make for a rough ride, but i drive it daily with no complaints or problems. even my mom drove it and liked it. anyways, if your thinking about new coils, i highly recomend Ireland Engineering...

Yeah, they're probably alot better for california than nyc. H&R race springs and the rough streets of nyc dont mix too well. But they are alot of fun on the few smooth spots out here. I'm considering changing to sports though after the winter. I feel like everything is slowly rattling loose.

hey gunsmoke, do you have roads like san francisco city streets around where you live? for my daily i was thinkin of goin bilstein sports and h&r sports, but if the ie3s aint that rough i might consider that route as well.

sorry man, if i do decide to switch it up, im going h&r sports. Also, i would like to keep both for a bit incase i decide to change back

i'm on the city streets a lot, some pot holes, but really not too bad. i'm not sure what the streets are like in San Fransisco, but here in San Diego, these coils are it. not too fun on dirt roads though, try to avoid those...

san diego sounds similar. by sf streets i meant tons of potholes and speed bumps =\ and i never hit dirt roads... at least not that i can think of.. can anyone compare ie3s to h&r race/sports

my brother has the H&R sports on his e30. he said if he was to do it again, he'd go with the ie3's. In my opinion, ride quality is similar, but the ie3's are stiffer for cornering and harsher on speed bumps. i guess if you deal with a lot of pot holes, and you don't plan on taking it to the track, H&R's are fine, plus they will be a good bit cheaper. new ie3's = 300 + s/h, new H&R's = 215, ussaly free s/h.

Keep in mind the IE3s are practically the same rates as teh H&R race springs. I have the latter and my brother has the former. IE was out of stock when I got mine, and I love the Races, he loves his IE3s.

Yes its stiff but who cares? If it makes the car such a delight in the twisties its no chore to feel the road everywhere else... Annoying only when I find myself apologizing to friends over speed bumps..
