remote car door opener
« on: May 18, 2012, 04:02:42 PM »
my door handles are now broken on both sides passenger and driver i can no longer open my car from the outside without reaching my hand through the window and opening it from the inside.

i have seen those car door openers that will pop your door open with the press of a button i can not find them anywhere...  maybe im searching for the wrong thing.. idk any help would be appreciated thanks.

i am not looking to replace with OEM parts, im going to be painting my car soon, and i want to just remove the door handles and the locking mech. entirely and bondo the hole and create a smooth surface. a handless door.

Look up "door popper"

they are on ebay and such, I am planning to shave my door handles eventually, I'd love to know how it goes for you, and if the door actually ends up weighing more or less when you're done

Yeah, simple install especially if you have an alarm with the remote entry option.
You drill and install a 'spring' that pushes the door out and a metal rod/plunger that pulls what normally would be pulled when you pull the door handle.

After dealing with the difference between the '2dr is' and the '4dr i', be thankful you have the 2dr as getting to the door handle is much easier.
