Some of you may know me from other forums (Rev, GRM, Dirtyimpreza) where I've been building up a rallycross e30 (1985 M10-powered 318i)

Build thread here, in case anyone cares:

Anyhow, just picked up an M42 for my next-winter project swap into the car. Haven't decided if I will just refresh it or do something more extensive. I'll be lurking around here all summer reading up and probably asking stupid questions but figured I'd do a quick intro. More later :)

The engine:

The car it's going into:

OOh.  I like the way this is heading!

...ask any stupid questions you like.  I'm sure I've asked most of them already!  Answers, of course, are rarer.

RallyX FTW! This should be cool.

Love the GT6 too.

I'm halfway helping on frame-off project involving a 1970 GT6. Cool cars.

Thanks, car's been in the family since new, but was mostly rust and fiberglass when I started.

In case you're interested, I did a long build thread for the GT6 "cheapo-frame-off-restoration-that-I-half-assed" at the following link:

Coolness! Thanks for the linkage and PMs.

I'll check out the build thread and definitely run this by my bud with the GT6.

BTW, Bob and I both feasted our eyes on a nice '67 GT6 recently that had long-tube, bag-o-snakes headers and six motorcycle carbs for intake!!! It was pure Triumph porn. Wheels just like yours too. lol

nice....yeah that's probably a PRI-built car. They do the six-pack Mikuni or Keihen carbs with the crazy header. That stuff is WAAAAAAY overpriced though.

They have some cool stuff though, check it out
