Mystery wire
« on: March 30, 2012, 04:39:17 PM »
Can anyone tell me about the gray wire with black stripe in the picture?  I had to remove the blower, and after reinstalling the blower, I'm putting the wiring harness back on to the top of the firewall.  I discovered two gray wires with black stripes that have connectors that are clearly made for each other (yellow arrows in pic).  However, one connector is wrapped with old tape in a direction opposite from the other, so they can not reach.  Any idea what this is all about? I can't figure out if it's an option that is not installed in our car, or if something was hacked many years ago, and I should reconnect the two wires.
.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Ian

There's a thread on here about "the hot start problem" that mentions this wire.

Leave the wire disconnected unless you have a Euro non-cat car.
