I'd like to take out the factory O2 sensor, since I have a wideband, but then I'd be driving around with a check engine light on all the time, which could conceal a real problem.

You can always put a resistor in place to fool the ecu. And it's not a good idea to always run the wideband since they have limited usage time before they become ineffective or crap out. Do you have the NTK or Bosch?

This car is not my daily driver, so I don't put a lot of miles on it. I'm not worried about the wideband.  It's an Innovate LC-1 with a Bosch sensor.  I could probably program the LC-1's second output to fool the ECU in place of the stock O2 sensor.

Hi i am planning on doing the power commander on a 318ti and was wondering if you may be able to tell me what wires were different and what the color differences were? Also if you could tell me which power commander you used i know its the gsxr1000  Im just wondering if it was the 2001-2002 model or for a newer model. Thanks in advance for any help from anyone.

define "first gear is almost useless" I'm building a 2.1L turbo motor, and I just put in a medium case 4.10 lsd to take the added power... I thought first gear would be pretty useless, but you have me wondering how useless its going to be...

what kind of power are you putting down?

Seriously, you will be able to rip the tires on demand with that 4.10.  You could probably scratch 3rd.

I define "useless" as not having time to look at the street to see if you're inbetween the lines while you have it floored.  You just have to keep your eyes on the tach.

Try the 4.10 for a while, what the hell.  It's easy to swap out.
