Leaky gas tank?

Hey ive been noticing a leak in my gas tank underneath the filler hose on the right rear passenger side. Ive heard about JB welding it...can anyone chime in about this subject? i really really dont want to replace the tank...

Pull the bottom of your rear seat and on the right hand side of the car is an oblong panel where the fuel pump resides behind. It could be as simple as a bad O-ring under the lip of the fuel pump housing, the overflow line may be dry-rotted or the neck the line attaches to may be rusted through.

If you live in an area where they salt the roads you should also check the seams running around the tank for rust and separation.

I suppose JB Weld would be acceptable for a small hole, but my gas tank was so far gone I elected to replace the tank with one I had on hand.

Let me put it like this; it's a great time to replace subframe and control arm bushings as well as run new fuel hoses.:)
