If BMW made something that's a polar opposite of the e30 it'd be the 8. Thirsty and prone to electrical problems...first generation BMW fly-by-wire, dual interdependent Motronic systems, lots of questionable solid-state components and old enough that some dealer service may be required.
But there's nothing like an M70 at full cry...and the 8 is a technical triumph as well as a superb GT, no doubt. Hard choice there. I'd lose the stereo and the badges...looks great otherwise. Wonder how far Dinan pushed that motor?
