Hose kits?
« on: January 29, 2012, 09:24:34 AM »
I need to replace a fair number of hoses on my '91 318is, and was looking at Pelican Parts hose kits.  They don't have a hose kit for the '91 318is, but do have one for the '92/'93 e36 318is that had the same engine.  Any guesses as to whether this kit might fit the e30?
Thanks in advance,
Ian

You should consider upgrading to silicone. It's not a direct fit kit, just bulk hose that you have to cut yourself but it's easy enough to do if you use the stock hoses as a guide. It'll last a lot longer than rubber too.

Sorry, can't help you with the E30 vs. E36 thing.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I prefer the molded hoses for ease of fit.  And they did last about 20 years, so I can't complain about durability.  Turns out the hose routing is different between the e30 and e36, so the Pelican kit won't work (but they will make one up for the e30).  However, the Pelican parts kit doesn't include the vacuum hoses.

Instead, Steve at Blunttech.com (http://www.blunttech.com/)worked with me to replace all the rubber hoses in the engine bay.  He really went the extra distance to make sure I had all the parts I need, highly recommended.  Plus, he now has all the part #'s to put together a kit if anyone else is in need.

How much did you pay for all the hoses, and did he give you all oem? Very interested because I have to do the same thing!
