i created an account with e30tech a while back ago. and since then i still not allowed to post update my profile. everytime i try it says that my account is invalid but im still logging in or my account is awaiting activation or "approval" from the site master.. i think its b.s and i dont think ill every want to you that site now as ive tried contacting the "master" to resolve my issue but no response.. i dont see why they let you create an account and user name let you log on and cant do more than just a guest can.. has anyone dealt with this

I'm a moderator on e30tech, although I'm not active on the forum now, for a variety of reasons.

Sadly, the only person who can activate accounts is the forum owner, Chris, and he only seems to tend to business once every two or three months.

I'm not sure what his reasoning is, or why he won't let others approve new members.

The forum traffic has dropped dramatically. There is still tons of good info and strong contributors, but the forum needs nothing more than a bunch of new blood, like yourself.

I'm sorry you haven't had any luck with e30tech.

M42club is incredibly helpful for e30s with the twin-cam four! :-)

Cheers,

I wonder why admins won't delegate over there? Keeping a site going takes a lot of work.  I'm definitely glad for the info here as well.  So I agree...we're great!  :D

i agree with the 2 of you i love this forum and dave is a big help but just wanted to extend my ideas with what others have done with their e30s... i also have an account with R3V and they seem to be "nice" but my first start was this forum and i learned alot from here so my true loyalty will always be M42club.....

My best advice is to hang in there until Chris activates your account.

I know it's frustrating, sorry. :-(

its not your fault hitchcock but not to be rude but i wont sit around and wait to get approved... ive read some of the threads there and they seem to not have alot of love for the M42... im starting to see that a little in R3V but they are also quick at judging as for 80% of the members are totally against halos or angel lights as for ive always liked them and i think its a BMW trademark... at of all the forums i like M42club cause not all ppl here are dicks unlike all the other forums... but it doesnt hurt to jump to other forums for ideas and info

Ah c'mon ...

e30tech is not what I would call an elitist forum, but it isn't very well run.

Anyway, they drive e30s, like you and I.

To the OP, I understand what you're saying and I don't consider it rude at all.

Frankly, sir, it's the forum's loss at this stage of the game.

LOL...

R3v can get a little juvenile, but they post some good stuff.  Wish they'd encourage forum mods to ban & delete a lot more posts over there.  I guess it's par for the course...e30's are a great first car; cheap & fun & cool.  It's great that they don't take a Ph.D. or a lot of expensive tools to fix.  Not that many of those noobs should be twisting wrenches, but you have to start somewhere (I beat a bunch of cars to death while I was learning).

Though a lot of good threads are hard to read...especially if two or three wannabes have to start WWIII about JDM ricer junk.  Easy to talk smack staring into their parent's computer, eh?  They can flame each other's rims in hell for all I care.  All the Pep Boys junk on earth won't slow that crusher down.

^ LOL. As one of the 'over fifty" crowd there's a lot of truth in your statement. I've always enjoyed this forum for its maturity level and I don't mean that in a strictly chronological age sense. I'd say the forum members here are pretty respectful and happy to help out a fellow M42 owner.

yes im begining to see that now on R3V.. its funny cause only a few welcomed me in and the rest compliments me on my engine bay then tells me to get rid of the ebay stuff.... what ebay stuff its only headlights and tails everything else is from DTM fiberwerks just because they have an account on ebay doesnt mean i bought it there lol and and the complaints about angel eyes all against it so funny

I'm a newcomer to the whole forum deal and I definitely noticed the maturity level of m42club while I was going through google for m42 info (compared to r3v at least and that's not saying that that isn't a great information base itself). I'm loving this forum so far and no one hates on me for not knowing anything! On the contrary, I get nothing but awesome help.

well you most defintely get more info here bout the M42 as you would in R3V..
as a matter a fact if seen threads that has been copies from here and posted over there or similiar ones.... they mostly into the swaps to S52, LS-1, and jap motors... not to say it would be nice to have a good motor combo but respect each other in their build and dont put down anyone cause their e30 dont fit your eyes....
