Fuel injector wiring question. 36 lb/hr + PCIII
« on: November 04, 2006, 10:45:22 PM »
Hi, I'm wiring a PCIII in to my car to control 36 lb/hr injectors, following Shawn Foggs writeup.  Problem is that was for an M44, and I don't know if there are differences from my M42.  When I uncovered the injector wiring along the fuel rail, I found, as expected, that all four 12v lines merge into one and go to the fuse box.  But the signal wires for injectors 1 and 3 merge too, and go to the DME.  Likewise with 2 and 4.  You can see the two small white/brown wires are crimped together and join one larger white/brown that goes to the DME.  The same with the yellow/brown.

This must mean that two injectors are fired at a time?  The concept should still work, it just threw me for a loop when i saw it.  Does anyone know of any problems this would pose?

Yeah, this is normal-there are two injector channels, fired alternately. what's the issue with this (I haven't read the link I'm afraid)?

After thinking about it some more, it shouldn't be a problem.  I was just expecting to see fully sequential injection instead of semi-sequential.
