Rear window defroster ??
« on: November 04, 2011, 11:36:40 AM »
Welll,  that cold weather is here..used my rear window defroster,  and it almost surprised me by working great.   The switch did not light up,  nor did the little red light to the left of the on/off button.   What is supposed to light up here, if anybody knows.

There is a little bulb within the switch. You might be able to swap them out if you get the right size and solder them. The the red light button to the left is the hazard button.

The hazard button, is to the right of the rear window defroster switch.  just to the left of the defroster switch,  is a little red dot that looks like a light.     ah, well, the important thing is the rear defroster works..

correct, my mistake. If you have a little light, it could be radar detector or alarm light when you have it enabled. The car might have had an alarm installed at one point.

I bet you are right about it being related to an alarm.  there is a "sireen" under the hood, but  PO had the alarm disabled.   It must be the bulb in the switch not working.
                                                      Thanks,
