Hi all, I'm new to the forum, but recently got a '91 318is, my second e30 in the last 2 years. Anyways, my question regards getting new wheels for it. It currently runs the 14" basket-weaves, and to my knowledge pretty much all the e30's ran R14's (save for the M3), but I have seen pictures around of these cars with a R15 4x100 basket-weave. Does anyone have anymore info on these wheels? Availability? Any and all help is appreciated. Glad to finally be a member of this great forum!

Both 14" & 15" versions were used. Have had both. Imho 15" looks much better. At least here in Europe 15" versions are really good available. 14" is rare, but i suppose most people are looking for 15"
Do you own a 944 as well? I have been 951 owner last 11 years.

Welcome to the 'club!

Your question is a good one. I've heard that the rims aren't common in the US at all. The iX used a 4-lug 15" BBS rim, but the offset is very different. I'd agree that the 15" looks better, perfect size for the e30 IMHO. BTW, I'm pretty sure the center caps are different between the 14" and 15" rims.

Yes the centercaps are 151 mm for the 14" weaves and 171 mm for the Euroweaves.

Thanks all, it's a shame I cant find anything other than the iX wheels here in the U.S, I guess I'll just be keeping an eye out for those or other alternatives, I kinda like the look of the 16" Rota RB's, but we'll see.

ose30, I do in fact have an '86 NA, probably one of the few cars I've driven that handles better than an e30(imo), makes it hard to decide which one I want to spend the upgrade money on haha. Have you had the same 951 the last 11 years? Done any upgrades on it?

well if you cant find the originals 15's maybe this will help its not 15's but they are 16's which is another popular size for our cars not suspension mod needed unless you go 8-9" wide, direct bolt on with factory lugs i have the 008 and im happy maybe will get a set of the 002 in the future

deansweet- great looking 944! mine's also Guards Red with the phone dials, it could use a respray though...

Those euroweaves on r3v look to be a pretty good deal, I just need to look into shipping costs. I'm familiar with the ESM weaves, little bit pricey though unless I can find a used set, thanks again guys.

Ok so, after some searching around I found a site that appears to carry the euroweaves, the offsets are very similar, same bolt pattern, but the widths seem a bit off(6.5 and 7.5), sounds more like the Ronal versions, but the prices look great. yes the esm can be a bit pricey but their quality in rims is really great and do make the car stand out... As well as perfect fitments without much mods imho

2 other options...
the rare factory option 15" style 10s are available in the us. nice deep dish, perfect fit.
also fill and drill a set of 16" weaves from a 7 series- rims are usually available for 200 a set... fill and drill price is up to your local machine shop....they look great, but i do think they need a small 5mm spacer up front.
also - i am looking for 1 style 10 (even damaged is ok) if someone is breaking up a set, of has a bent one...

for the same price as these you might as well invest in some good after market ones since the originals in that site are as close as the ones in the ESM site
