Hi,

I have just fitted a new engine to my e30 and now need to find the location of the engine number for the cars paperwork.

Can anyone tell me where abouts on the engine i can find this information.

A picture would be a great help.

The serial number is located on the lower left side (passenger side if you are in the good ole USA, or right side of car if you are sitting in the drivers seat) of the block, toward the front.

huh mines on the intake side guess mines from the good ol homeland... thats good to know... also it should start with BMW followed by 7 or 8 number digits if i can remember
