My 318is
« on: November 01, 2006, 10:50:13 PM »
I am bored so it is time to add my profile.

This is my second E30 318is. I purchased it in September 2004 with around 261,500km. It now has over 277,000km.

April 1990 BMW 318is coupe, factory features:
* Laser Blue
* Manual windows
* Air conditioning (standard in Australia)
* No sunroof
* Front fog lamps

Modifications by previous owner:
* AC Schnitzer gear knob and pedals
* Sony CD/MP3 player

Major repairs since purchase:
* Dashboard replaced
* Differential replaced
* Front valence panel repaired and new lower lip painted and fitted

Modifications since purchase:
* Sports seats from a 323i Motorsport
* 15x7" BBS wheels (imported)
* M40 flywheel and clutch
* H&R -30mm (1.25") springs
* Bilstein Sport dampers
* Kmac front adjustable castor/camber strut mounts
* Custom shift light

Future modifications:
* 63L fuel tank (already purchased just waiting to fit, need a 63L fuel gauge to match still)
* Eibach front strut brace (already purchased but doesn't fit so well over the Kmacs so not fitted at this stage)
* Z3 1.9 shift lever
* 4.27 or 4.45:1 differential

Average fuel economy since purchase... 9.64l/100km (Best 7.91, worst 11.31)
Best 0-60mph recorded on Gtech.... 9.38sec

The car is for sale if anyone in Australia is interested.

Curious, why did your red 318is need "many fuel pumps"?

I don't know but I must have replaced it at least five times. The only positive result of this was that I am now an expert at starting a 318is with a faulty fuel pump and an expert at replacing them. Just don't ask me to do yours :)
