Power expectancy?

So...for a long time (basically ever since I read the Pelican Parts book "101 Performance Projects for your BMW 3-Series 1992-1999") I have wanted the DASC Kit for my lil M42.

However, I am now stuck in a dilemma. The Dbilas Dynamic Sport Manifold...


I don't need to tell you all how amazing this thing looks...you've seen...you know...

So I'm thinking now, like many others on here...about a Turbo build...using the following:

- MM 2100 M42 FI Engine (can generate anywhere between 250-350hp)
- VAC Motorsports Performance Underdrive Pulleys
- Dbilas Dynamic Sport Intake Manifold with ITBs
- Some form of Turbo set-up (never looked in to Turbo's before, so very unsure of what is good and what is not)
- Miller W.A.R Chip

My question is, what would the expected power and torque be from this engine? Keeping in mind that I would be running 8.6:1 Compression...and more than likely 15-20psi...

Pretty much impossible to guess as there are too many variables. If you are going forced induction, dont bother with the ITBs and spend money elsewhere. Also, the MM engine is a rediculious cost. Just build the engine with factory crank, and upgrade rods and pistons.

I wouldn't use the Miller WAR chip as I have never seen anyone use it with real success. People generally complain about the lack of available base tunes. Go with a standalone instead. There are plenty of Aussie options out there.

Tuning is the most important, figure that out first.

I think Nick gave some good advice, but I would not bother to upgrade the rods.  We've seen the stock rods take more than 45PSI (for a very short duration) so unless you plan a ton of valve train work to raise the revs, focus on the engine management and turbo setup if that's the route you want to go.
