Want to see who has what size rim including width and offset and why. Please mention brand and cost if you can. Also throw in your opinion and would you do it the same again.

I have the stock 14 BBS and they are nice but a PITA to clean. The size looks out of proportion to the car. Yesterday someone called them pizza slicers. I am thinking a 16 inch rim with say a 7-7.5 width would look good BUT, will they preform well or is the car going to be too "under powered?"

all my wheels are 14's. I'd like to pick up a set of 16's in a while. Not to mention a set of euro weaves

!7" BBS copies (chrome) Cost was $680 to my front door. Everybody likes them except the few hard core Bimmerphiles that know the difference. Of course most people think a Ferrari is a really good kit car!

My 16's are much heavier then the 14" stock. I can feel it in 0-60 times but the looks and handling make up for it.

I have three sets of 15's

15x6.5 Konig Holes (et40, 13.8lbs) $250 with used Azenis need spacers
15x7 Kosei K1 (e21 fitment et17, 13.5lbs) $125ish per wheel
15x8 Rota slipstream (et20, 14.5lbs) $525 shipped

I first ditched my 14" weaves for the kosei's with 225/50/15 Falken ziex. After going through 2 sets of Ziex (great tire) I got the Konig's the Kosei's became my race wheels with 225/45/15 Hoosiers mounted. The slip's are on my car now with a new set of 205/50/15 Azenis but they are too narrow for the wheels.

The slips and kosei's will trade place in the spring as track/street wheels. i think I'll get something a bit less aggressive than azenis for my next set of street tires.

The Konig's are on my brothers car at the moment with some 225/50/15 Kumho 711's, but I may reposess them for snow wheels (my brakes require 15"

Next race season I'm going to try take-off slicks from Formula A cars. They are super cheap (I just got a set for $100 shipped!) but work best on a 10" wide wheel. :eek: Hopefully the Slipstreams will get the job done.

I run a 16X7 et12. I would have prefered an et20 but they did not make one. i run these with 205/50/16 Toyo R compound tyres. No rub with rolled guards.

I've debated this quite a few times too. For me personally, I would think 16x7 would be a very good street combo if you're mainly a street cruiser and want that balanced look.

For auto-x, definitely lighter 15's

In my case of just having to have 1 wheel set year round including the snow months, 15's with a good set of all seasons are good tradeoff

7.5Jx16 ET15 + 205/45ZR16 summer and 6.5Jx14 ET30 195/60/R14 winter (BBS basketweaves) and for a short while 7.5Jx17 ET30 with 225/40 front and 235/35 rear.

I had 14 inch weaves on the car when I bought it. Apparently they had NEVER been cleaned, since there was a buncha discolorization and oxidation. I found 16 inch Mille Miglia wheels on SOME bmw forum I stumbled accross. These came off a euro-spec E30, so they might not have been sold in the US. They are nice 6-feet-away wheels, and look alot like E-46 wheels now that I stuck a roundel on the cap. I run 205/50 Sumitoma HT-Z tires (really really cheap at like $80 per, which I have been very satisfied with. Wet weather traction is really good, with strong resistance to hydroplaning. The wheel/ tire combo did not seem any heavier than the BBS and 65 series tires I took off.

I've got 15x7" Koseis with sticky rubber for the track, and 14" weaves for the street (if I can ever find a replacement tire).

- AC Schnitzer Type I 16"x7.5 for daily use
- BBS RS003 (gold) three pieces 16"x7 only track day use
- OZ 16"x7 --> 100% brand new, i saved in my garage

all in 4x100 offset 25..
