So I just picked up my first E30 (hopefully not my last) yesterday. I decided to get a 318is because it gave me the look and fun I wanted on the road with the gas mileage I need in Houston. My plans for the car are to build a DIY turbo kit and get a few more ponies but nothing major. (8 psi or so)

Looks great to me...welcome to the 'Club!  There are a few turbo guys here, but the NA builds are more typical.  It's really tight on the exhaust side of the motor.

Did you drop the lower oil pan yet?  The M42 has a habit of vibrating the upper pan bolts loose.
