Hi, thanks for looking at my thread. Up for sale is my sterling-silver 1991 318is (sunroof car). It was totaled (not my fault according to insurance, FYI) and it has a title stamped salvage. If you really wanted, you could fix the damage and get it inspected and re-titled, but I would assume just use it for parts. Has damage to the steering/suspension on the passenger's side, namely a bent/broken control arm and tie rod. Both front shock towers are intact. Body-wise, you can pretty much tell, but it would need a hood, front right fender, bumper/cover, valence, radiator core support, and grille/headlight assembly.

Located in Western Connecticut. PM me for specifics.

The motor still runs perfectly aside from some noise from the mechanical fan rubbing against something. I have been starting it and running it every 2 weeks. The last time I ran it, which was 2 days ago, it finally started leaking coolant, and I shut it off right away.

Motor has the E36 timing chain tensioner. Compression test ran 3/08 and the results were 190 +/- 2 across all 4 cylinders. Spark plugs and fuel filter replaced with Bosch units on the same date. Oil filter change w/ Mann/Mahle every 3k, oil change w/ Castrol full synthetic every 6k. This motor is solid. I have some videos of it running which I can try to post up later.

Anyway, I can sell it to you in whatever state you want - interior is partly removed already, but if you want it then we could probably work something out. Make me an offer. The interior is very mint so I figured I would sell it separately. I will likely be removing the 100% crack-free dashboard to sell separately as well, but again, if you want it with the car, just make an offer.

I will be removing the 4.10 LSD because I want to use it on my other car. But if anyone has a 4.27 they want to offer me the 4.10 will stay. I will at least include an open 4.10, but I may or may not get around to installing it.

Car will come with your choice of bottlecaps with decent tires, or weaves with shitty tires.

I will also be removing: driver's side Euro grille and ellipsoid, rear Euro bumper trim. I have extra complete US sealed beams, US trim, and US grilles.

It is basically a parts car that can run (well) and drive (not so good).

I am pricing it as follows:
engine - 300
trans. - 100
wheels/tires - 100
shell/misc. - 250

So I am asking $750. If you want or don't want this or that, just let me know and I will try my best to accommodate you.

It also has an OE cat-back exhaust that was installed in early 2008.

On to the pics:

I forgot photos of the engine bay today but I will get them tomorrow, hopefully as well as videos of it running.

Any questions, don't hesitate. Let me know if I forgot anything. Thanks!

won't be included in the sale, unfortunately, which is why I didn't mention it. It's a UUC EVO3 SSK with a UUC RK3 knob (discontinued for 4-5 years now). I will be using both of these things on my other E30.

Photos of the engine, as promised. You can plainly see that is has not been affected by the accident damage. They don't build 'em like they used to!

And here is a video of it running:

M42 Bizness

The racket you hear is just the mechanical fan being noisy.

Price is now 700. If it's not gone by Monday morning the car is getting parted!

If those front sport seats are in good shape I'd take those.  Plus some other random stuff, just shoot me a pm on the price ... I'm in 98036.

Thanks, Gerta

Any chance you have the engine wiring harness intact?

Pending sale of the car, sorry. I will be most likely be fully parting out another low-mileage 318is in the near future though, so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks!

Like I said, I have another 318is that I will be parting out soon. It has a seized motor and I'm not sure yet to what extent I want to tear it apart. Though I'm not really sure what people do with seized motors otherwise.

Thanks. At this point it's more a matter of saving this engine. I'm tired of dealing with BS kids who don't have the money - I really don't want to send this car to the scrap yard with a 118k mile engine still in it, but I'm afraid I may not have a choice. I need this car gone and I don't have the time to pull the engine myself.

That being said, first $500 takes it. Come take this car off my hands, I'm tired of looking at it.

Photos of the car in its current state:

I think you can tell from the pics, but if you need me to clarify what is/is not on the car let me know.
