Hi folks!

First, sorry for my bad english skills, but i'm from switzerland, so english isn't my first language :o

I've bought my first 318iS this year, and i'm glad about that!

Actually, the 318iS has 110k km (about 66k miles)
The iS is my daily / sporty drive.
First, i'll post some pics, to make you understand what i am talking about :D

Actually, i'm working on going back to normal 318iS axles, because the M3 axles aren't street legal in switzerland and the car is for daily drive much to deep (Bilstein coilovers at it's highes place and i've already smashed a oil pan).

So i've orderd a k-sport street coilover, h+r anti roll bars, powerflex bearings, new wishbones and bought some nasty 14'' original styling 5 rims! (Maybe later 15'' for summer)...

After that, i'm adding the iS lip again, and the tiny spoiler (already at home) and doing some paint work!

The rear fenders will also be changed, back to the original look, in my opinion the only right.

At the moment i've got enough open projects on the car, but i'm also looking for a usable single mass flywheel conversion (maybe spec, sachs?).

And i'm looking for some nice M-stripes, which can't no longer be orderd at my BMW reseller... Maybe good replicas?

And now a little bit about me, myself and i.
I work for a small (as you would say tiny) IT concern. My cars are my biggest hobby i drive as already said the '91 iS, a '96 (Euro-)M3 and a '98 Jaguar XJR.
Here some Pics...

The XJR was my daily ride, but he was kinda thirsty, and so i had to buy a "economy" car. (In switzerland 1 gal fuel costs about 8.7 usd, so you see what i ment) :)

I don't know how long i do drive the 318iS as daily ride, i think after all things i will make, i can't use the car no longer for that.

So i think, that was all i have to say, i hope for good contacts and nice hints!

Quite the collection there.  Your iS is slammed!  I'm not nearly as brave as you are...that oil pan is awfully exposed...

howdy guys!

i got some news about my car, so i won't let you miss it!
I made some pics, to keep you up to date.

I hope the clutch will work this sick as it was pronounced ;)
At the moment, the car is still in the garage, but i will go further the next week, when i don't have to work.

Here the actual upgrades.
- Spec Stage 2 Clutch
- JB Racing Flywheel (no more dual-mass ;) ) 4.1kg eg. 9 pounds
- Other Chip, 7500rpm
- K-Sport Suspension
- Powerflex bushes
- H+R anti-roll bar
- stronger brake lines (called stahlflex in switzerland :) )

That means, i got now a sporty street legal E30 318iS.
I also got the original spoiler (front and rear) from the 318iS, which only has to be painted again, but i think, this will happen when i redo the rear fenders.

After that, i don't know how to get forward.
Next spring, i'm gonna upgrade my E36, and after that i think, i'm gonna swap a S85B50 into the E30 and use him as Tracktool. But at the moment, this isn't official and still a dream.

Let us see, i will inform you, if something chances!

Stay tuned!

Some news

Hi guys!

Me again, got some news for you.
First, i got some troubles with my bolt on suspension, a k-sport coilover, the spring which would stable was not delivered.

After that, i got one from my buddy and k-sport specialist, which worked it out.

Here is my finished rear axle, as already told with powerflex bushes, h+r anti roll bar, k-sport spring and damper and my new steel brake lines (?).
PS: Yes, it's a LSD :D

And here a pic from the front suspension.
As you (or at least the eagle eye's) see, the second spring is mounted and it fits really well in every height i would drive.
I also removed the dust / dirt cover to get a better airflow arround the brakes, because i won't loose the brake power.

And i also got 4 goodies for my 318iS....
4 new tar-ox brakes (don't know if they are well known in the USA) slotted and cross drilled.

And i don't wanna look bad in your eye's and ordered a part of your country ;)
I've heard something about dual mass flywheels w/ AC and single mass w/o.
But also some said that every iS after march '90 is fitted with dual mass fw so i wouldn't risk to take the wrong one ;)

A spec stage 2 clutch and pressure plate incl. a JB Racing flywheel (which weights 9lbs :D).

A also removed the catalytic converter out of the stock case. But i will refit a race cat. or a pipe trough, because the noise is annoying, the pressure makes real noisy clank.

I don't got more pics of it, my first drive experience wasn't that bad. I don't wanna commend to much, maybe later with a vid of it on the race track.

I also got some Schrick camshafts (258° each side) which would be fitted next weekend.
This week, the car is going to be painted, i will send you pics if i got one of the complete car.

Also new... I bought some 14'' rims, aaand 15'' rims in a very good condition. Pics later ;)

And not as usually planned, i will not use the car as a daily drive car, it will be my car for my beginning on hill climb racing, because i will get a daily drive from my company ;)

And sorry for all jag fans, the car is sold...
I will look around for a car which could trail a lot, as a F150 lighting or something like that. Maybe later ;)

Cya!

I'll say it was! I was reading this thread wondering how I could have missed or not remembered this car.

Very nice! Welcome to M42 Club Lukas!

Hi Folks

Here are the last pics of my E30...

I was so happy with this ride, i stopped driving my M3.
Way less weight = Way more fun.

So i went a little bit slaphappy and broke it...

After a long time, i decided to not repair the car.
After my buddy bought a E30 318is for hill climb racing, i had to buy a competitor.

I was totally happy with my E30 and thought a long time about it, which car it should be.
So i decided to buy a E36 318iS.
Because the lightest E36 (except the Compact) is the Limousine i bought a 318iS Class II.
Don't know if you know that car, its a limited edition for the STW homologation.

So however, i'm gonna start over again with the E36, and after i get some cash again, i'm gonna post some pics of my tracktool built :)
