Painted Calipers? Let's discuss ...
« on: July 25, 2011, 09:38:41 PM »
Ok ... so I have decided to tackle the rebuild of some stock calipers and wanted opinions on colors ...

I've got a diamondschwartz car and silver weaves so I was toying with the idea of yellow.  Admittedly I haven't a clue what looks good so looking for some constructive input (i.e. don't tell me hyper-pink, ok.).   Bonus points if you have painted non bbk pics to share.

Thanks,

gerta

I voted black.  I'd do the rotor hat as well, while I was at it.
'08 Karmesinrot 128i 6MT
'86 Zinnoberrot 635CSi (M30B32/G265/3.46 torsen LSD)

Sold: '97 Montrealblau 318iS, '91 Brilliantrot 318i, '91 Brilliantrot 318iS

I'm gonna do black when I order my reman'ed calipers, yellow would be cool too, if you did it right and could have a powder coat type look to them.

I'd do Black or Red, you'd be surprised how hard it is to keep yellow calipers looking clean. Red and black are much easier to maintain a 'clean' look. I've had really good luck with G2 caliper paint over the years.

Thanks Dean!  I'm leaning toward black now as well.  Recently I saw a fairly riced out E34 535i  ... big yellow calipers behind silver wheels kinda made me throw up in my mouth a little ... car was alpine and maybe it was a reflection from the underglow that made them look poor.
