M20 Bearings in an M42
« on: July 25, 2011, 05:22:23 PM »
I've been pulling together components for my rebuild and in researching various aspects of the M42 (or better yet, its inadequacies), I've found the main bearings could be improved.  I've seen postings and literature indicating you can swap in the M20 main bearings and it provides a full 360 thrust bearing surface, and better oil passages.

Has anyone done this - interested to hear comments on how you notched the block bearing surfaces, and problems encountered, sizing the bearings to the coloring on the block/crank for correct part ordering.
