new radiator
« on: October 29, 2006, 05:06:32 PM »
I bought a new nissens radiator through autohauz . I installed it along with a new waterpump and when I was filling it up the radiator leaked like a sieve .
Has anyone had a new radiator leak on them ?
Now I have to wait a week for another replacement radiator.
just in time for winter storage.

I was told by my shop foreman that when replacing the radiator or the expansion tank on our cars you can never get them to re-seal correctly.

The bleeder screw was broken off on my expansion tank and the radiator just started leaking so i replaced the whole thing with one from a junkyard.  100 bucks :)

this was brand new with the expansion tank attached .
All I did was install the rubber feet ,screw in the temp sensor and connect the hoses .
