Not getting out of the E30 game--Still have my 91 318is but I couldn't resist picking this play thing up. Price was right...and have always loved this style..

Besides the E30 is going to be completely overhauled so I needed something else to tool around in...

Now that's playing both sides of the BMW game, eh?  Reminds me of the old commercial - "sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't."  If you get tired of the spartan 318 you can roll in the lap of luxury.

Nice score, always thought highly of the old Bavarian wunderauto...which one did you get?

Nice color. My dad has the 840ci midnight blue, so I get to play with it also. Nice cruises but not nimble. Just becareful with head, make sure it had the recall done. Also many electrical gremlins with the e31, so take care of them when they happen or it damages other electrical issues.

She is sitting back on the stock wheels now

And yes, the interior needs a good cleaning...

I had hoped for something more along the lines of another CSL when it was introduced (was I ever disappointed), but then the US mass market M3 stepped in and I didn't have to worry.  Now that I've grown up a little I think of the e31 as a pretty worthy successor to the 6-series.

You haven't seen any 850CSi's with the 6-speed, have you?  That seemed like a different take as well.  I've always been looking for one just to take a test drive.  That's pretty unlikely though, the e31 is a rare sight...according to Wikipedia, total US sales were 7,232 units all told.

I was keeping my fingers crossed that you'd do some interior shots.  Thanks!

The CSi only came with the 6 speed..And I cant recall ever seeing one let alone driving one. It is basically an M8 although it was never part of the M series.
If you want to open up your wallet Dave, there are 4 CSi's on Autotrader...Starting around $40,000..
And I will take some better interior shots once I get it cleaned up a little better. Minor wear on the seat bolsters and a sagging headliner (especially on the sunroof) are about the only interior flaws. Some pixels are dead on the display unit, but the dash is crack free.
If you are ever out the Philly way give me a shout..

Dan

I'm glad that they retain their value, had no idea that they're in the $40k range though.  Those cars might have a reputation for electrical gremlins but the big bits will likely last forever.  They're also normally well-pampered beasts; I've been tempted by them before.

I'll let you know if I head out your way...but the closest I usually get is Allentown or Lancaster.  My job takes me regularly around the state.  You're lucky to live out east...I see all sorts of great deals on cars out your way.

There is a place in CA, usually on ebay that can repair the pixels on the OBC. He did with my dad's e31. The guy normally works with e36s, but they are almost the same. Other option is to find a used or buy a new one and both are big $$$.

Now that sounds like a plan.  Any good brew houses over your way (after kicking tires, of course)?  I know one down in Lancaster.  "The Frog House" or something like that.

I'll also take a look at the OBC if you want...  I've managed to break a few on e34's, so I know exactly what NOT to do!

I also forgot, there is a guy in Europe that sells the ribbon cables. I did that first and it brought back some of the pixels but still not 100%. The ribbon cable to the class is the key part.
