(This is a cross post. I am posting this on all of the e30 forums I belong to in hopes to reach as many e30 fans as possible. Hopefully this isn't breaking any rules. If it is, please contact me and I will edit my post accoding. Please read below for details.)
Let me start off with a more proper introduction.
My name is David. I am 21 and I'm from southeast Michigan. I've been into cars since the day I was born. I grew up around my hillbilly uncle and cousins who raced stock cars up in Standish MI and a few other short circle tracks. My first passion for cars was for VW's. That's where I started to see the first signs of NLA parts and such. I've only ever owned mk2s or older (1 mk1 Rabbit GTI) and I could really start to see the NLA parts list begin to grow. Since I've been in the e30 scene (not long, since last Fall) I haven't ran into too many NLA parts. So I'm starting this thread to see what people are looking for, and where I may be able to add a little contribution to the e30 world. Depending on what people reply with to this thread, I just might be able to get a quantity of a certain part that more people would be interested in. Believe me, I'm not by any means trying to get rich off of this, but rather to help a few fellow bimmers, and make enough $ to pay for my time put into it, and the parts supplied.
So here is my intention for this post. For all you e30 freaks out there (I've become one of you) Please make a post on here, short and sweet, with the part you are looking for that is NLA, or that is just simply not out there anymore. I'm thinking more along the lines of interior pieces, trim, moldings, maybe some M-Tech stuff that isn't out there anymore. Realistically, list anything you can think of that would be of benefit here. I don't really know what's NOT out there because unless I spend HOURS sifting through realoem.com, I won't know. I may try to call the dealer and get a list from them but I'm sure that won't go well because my local dealer seems a little out there. So please, if can find the part on realoem.com and get a part number, that would be fantastic.
After a few weeks (or days, depending on the responses I get) I will gather up the list and see which parts are more sought after and then see what I can do about a price and sample piece. Thanks for reading thus far, and I hope that this turns into something more than a lousy post on a message board.
