Just spotted BMW E36 318is M44 clutch kit with single mass flywheel, so I think it will fit E30 318is.

D1: 229mm; Version DBR; D2: 228.6mm; 10 teeth; spline 23.13; spline 29.13; With flywheel; With release assembly; With friction plate; With release bearing

but my newly installed used m20 starter sounds cooler than my old m42 starter!
another bonus to consider when doing m20 flywheel conversion  :)

I'm temped by both solutions...but the Valeo is much more expensive here (~$800 USD).  It'll be tough to decide once the clutch goes...

I hear they don't last long. I installed one on a e46 323i I had a long time ago (even though it's not listed as compatible, it worked perfectly). I didn't have the car long enough to know if the durability issue is true.
